Finally, the gap between a Chromebook and an Android device, in relation to the apps that could be installed on one and the other, narrows completely to completely disappear. All the Android apps are coming to Chrome OS And it's not just a small group of apps, but the Google Play Store in its entirety. More than 1.5 million apps can be installed on the platform that until yesterday was merely a browser. Chrome OS and Android are getting dangerously close to each time being closer together and we can attend in the future to another combination that results in another product.
For third-party developers who have their app on the Google Play Store it won't mean any extra effort bring it to Chrome OS. Both notifications and a number of other features should work without major problems. And it is that Google is focusing on creating a unique and unified experience for the user.
Mid June, the Chrome OS Developer Channel will see a message allowing you to opt-in for Android app compatibility. It will first be deployed on Chromebooks with a touch screen, so that later it will be what this type of screen does not support. Finally, in September or October, the total deployment would be carried out definitively.
