Android 13 has finally been officially presented, and with this new version of the operating system we obtain several important novelties to highlight. In addition, with the presentation recently made by Google, we know which mobile phones are currently compatible.

Normally, Google launches its versions of Android in September, but this time it has come a little early to let us know in August. With Android 13, the American company intends, as we said above, to improve the user experience even more, but without changes as radical as other previous versions of Android have supposed. In the same way, it comes with several important new features that we now highlight.
To begin with, Android 13 has an interface design somewhat similar to what we find in Android 12, with obvious improvements and changes, of course, but with an essence that does not make us think at first that we are facing something more than an improved and more polished variant of the aforementioned Android 12. This can be used on tablets and devices with large screens , moving it and dragging the apps that are there to appear on the screen with the split screen function, so that two apps can be used at the same time.
In question, recycle some other things that we already found in Material You of the Pixel, but taken to another level. For example, now the Material You is not only applicable to certain icons -such as those of Google-, but it can also make changes to those of third-party apps and different tools, which makes the interface more uniform based on a specific color scheme. This in sight suits you well, and is appreciated.
On the other hand, now the digital wellness mode has been renewed with Android 13, since it can be customized more than before. As such, you can adjust the settings for this feature to automatically turn off the wallpaper or turn on dark mode when it's time to sleep.
Something that is also new is the fact that You can now set the language for each application individually. Previously, the system language was applied for all apps no matter what; this is already forgotten with Android 13.
Privacy and security has been taken to a new level, as apps will now need more specific permissions to access media files. Before, when an application required them, if the permission was granted, it would access all the video, image and music files. With Android 13, they will need permissions for each thing individually.
In this sense, they will also need permissions to send and display notifications on the mobile (this only applies to third-party apps and not those that come pre-installed from the factory). Also, according to Google, privacy and security have been improved in other sections, in order to guarantee the confidentiality of data, files and all kinds of information stored on the mobile or tablet. The latter is closely related to the clipboard, as what is copied now will not be displayed in the overlay window and will be automatically cleaned from time to time.
The camera has also been improved thanks to Android 13, since third-party applications can now have HDR (High Dynamic Range) to capture videos with a better and wider dynamic range that will help lights and shadows to be better interpreted. This will be especially appreciated by content creators who are constantly uploading videos on social networks like Instagram and Facebook.
Spatial audio is also another of the most interesting features that come with Android 13. This audio feature will only be compatible with headphones that have the necessary sensors. As such, it allows the audio and sound of, for example, a movie, to be heard differently based on the movement we make with our heads, just as if they were different stereo speakers located in 360°. In this way, the listening experience will be even more impressive.
Continuing the theme of audio and sound experience, it also adds Bluetooth BLE support. This will ensure that the audio transfer occurs with less latency and also that the quality of the audio is higher. In turn, the connection will be more stable and there will be the possibility that several devices can be connected at the same time.
On tablets and devices like the Samsung Galaxy S Ultra, the Stylus will be more precise and scribble-proof, according to Google, since Android 13 will interpret the palm of the hand and the strokes made so that there are fewer errors when writing and drawing on the screen… We will see how this will work with greater accuracy.
Can you imagine copying photos, videos, text and links from the tablet to the mobile and vice versa? Well, Android 13 has a function for it. However, it seems that this will be activated later. Greater mobile compatibility with the Chromebook is also added so that instant messaging applications can be used from the latter.
Mobile phones compatible with Android 13 and update date
The only mobiles that, at the moment, are officially compatible with Android 13 are the Google Pixel, but not all. In question, are the Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a those that have already been confirmed to receive stable Android 13.
As expected, Other mobiles will be added over the next few months to receive the update of this software version. However, the manufacturers will surely give priority to their newer mobiles and those that are high-end.
