After updating the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy Tab S2 now it's the turn of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5

A couple of days ago, Samsung released an unexpected new update for the Galaxy Tab S6, a tablet that hit the market more than 5 years ago, an update that came shortly after the one the Galaxy S7 received a week earlier. The only reason to force Samsung to release such an update is in a security problem.

A security problem that apparently affects many more devices since the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy Tab S2 are not the only ones They have received an update that they did not expect. The new devices that also seem to be affected are the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5 (a terminal that was not marketed in Spain).

The Galaxy S6 update too is available for the S6 Edge and S6 Edge + model according to the guys from TizenHelp.

The Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge + are receiving the firmware version G92 * FXXS6ETI6, a patch that is installed on Android Nougat, the latest version of Android that received this range of terminals that represented the beginning of the design change of the range S from Samsung. The last update that the Galaxy S6 range received dates from June 2018.

The security patch that the Galaxy Note 5 has begun to receive is the N920SKSS2DTJ2. This terminal was last updated in August 2018 And, like the S6 range, it stayed on Android.

Samsung has not commented on the reason for the launch of these updates but it does not take very clever to link this unexpected move by the company with a serious security problem. Fortunately, and unlike other manufacturers that completely abandon their older terminals or just launch them, in Samsung continues to care about its customers.
