The software giant Adobe has recently launched the free application Adobe Scan, with which any smartphone can become a scanner.
“With the launch of Adobe Scan, we are reinventing the way we surprise the world around us. We have reinvented the creation of PDF for PCs, and thanks to the new application we will do the same for mobile phones, "said Kulmeet Bawa, director of management at Adobe's South Asia affiliate.
With Adobe Scan, you can turn your mobile or tablet into a scanning tool with text recognition. To use it, you will have to take photos of the pages you need and then these will be converted into PDF files.
The application also makes use of the services Adobe Sensei and automate margin recognition, perspective correction, document cleaning, shadow removal and text clarity, among other things.
Adobe Scan is available for both Android and iOS, giving you the possibility to take advantage of the OCR functions for the automatic recognition of the text of the images.
You can also use Adobe Scan to photograph documents or any other image with text, and the app will transform the text into one with the possibility of being selected and copied with Acrobat Reader, for example.
This application is not the first nor the last that promises to fulfill these types of tasks for users. Despite everything, taking into account that it is a product developed by Adobe, we could expect more satisfactory results when scanning our documents. And it is that often many applications that are based on text recognition technologies fail to correctly reproduce the text that was in our documents. Hopefully Adobe Scan does a better job on this section.
