'Actions on Google' or the option to integrate Google Assistant in third-party apps and more

Actions on Google

When Google presented the Pixel yesterday, one of the most striking features at the software level is that this smartphone has integrated Google Assistant, the axis on which many Mountain View services, devices and apps will rotate for years to come.

Knowing that Google Assistant is built into the Pixel phone, we were left the doubt that it would happen to others And if those manufacturers that manufacture Android smartphones would also have the option for it. It was logical that any developer, both of applications and electronic gadgets, could integrate that virtual assistance that will mark the next era according to Google.

'Actions on Google' will be available from December for developers and is a set of tools to connect applications and devices with the wizard. It allows developing instructions so that they can be used from Google Assistant. In this way, these devices can be connected for home automation so that from Google Assistant they can be activated in a simple way.

Developers will be able create two types of actions: direct and conversational. The direct ones can be activated by the voice actions that we usually use in Google Now, while the conversation actions are used for a natural conversation between the assistant and the user. This means that the wizard can ask different questions to fill in the user's request. We can already check this when we create a reminder from "OK Google" and as the assistant asks for the body of the message and so on.

Una open platform for all and that it will be available for the month of December, although no further details have been given about it. An interesting initiative that will add more capacity to all those products that were presented as Google Home, so that apps, like Todoist, can be directed by voice or virtual assistance.
