Xiaomi prepares its own processors that would arrive in 2016

Xiaomi is one of the youngest Asian companies with the most future. Its terminals are sold a lot in China and so much so that it has managed to unseat Apple from the throne of smartphone sales in the Asian country. So keep an eye on this manufacturer as it will surely become one of the largest manufacturers of mobile devices in the next few years.

Well, according to the latest information from the other side of the world, the company has been developing their own processors and these would be being tested in terminal prototypes so that, later, they are incorporated into the new generation of smartphones under the Redmi 2A range, which will be released in early 2016.

The current Redmi 2A range was launched during the month of April with the quad-core processor LC1860C, a chipset manufactured by Leadcore. This SoC surprised everyone since its performance was very similar to that of the processor manufactured by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 410, a processor that we can see in mid-range terminals, as is the case of the new third-generation Motorola Moto G.

The result of the Chinese company of incorporating this chipset in one of its low / mid-range terminals was a success since Xiaomi sold the device at a very affordable price, about € 70 to change, for the user, which it did that more than 5,1 million units of the device in just three months, an outrage. It is said that Xiaomi wants to exceed those numbers and for this it has planned to launch its own chips and incorporate them in its future terminals.

Processors manufactured by Xiaomi, good option?

This is because the company has acquired the ARM core licenses and recently hired the former president of Qualcomm of China. Adding these two things together, without a doubt the objective is clear: Manufacture your own chips to equip them in low / medium range terminals, to see how it works and thus, over time, incorporate them into other model ranges.

The company has not been named in this regard, but sources very close to Xiaomi comment that the manufacturer is gradually becoming more independent when it comes to manufacturing its own terminals. We are seeing how many terminal manufacturers are manufacturing their own smartphones and tablets with chipsets manufactured by themselves, Apple, Samsung or Huawei are a clear example.

We will be attentive to what finally happens with these Xiaomi processors to see what performance they have compared to other processors from other manufacturers. And you, You think that Xiaomi does well by manufacturing its own SoC's ?
