Steve Jobs attacks everyone starting with Android, will it be nerves?

Steve Jobs It is coming out lately and in his last appearance on Monday where he presented Apple's quarterly results, he left more than one comment in his pretentious style, perhaps because he was a bit confused due to the euphoria and the spectacular numbers that he presented.

Apple accounts are really something to get excited about and they would like more than one for their companies, but one thing does not take away from the other. Apple sold more than 14 million iPhones in the last quarter and according to Jobs there are around 275.000 devices that are activated with IOS every day, generating more than 20.000 million dollars in revenue, leaving more than 4.000 million in profits. Spectacular.

Up to here everything perfect and from here it begins to attack every living system focusing on Android.

Steve commented that Android is true that it is free but so that manufacturers can incorporate any addition of their own to it, thus closing it to the end user. They defend, and it could not be otherwise, the control they do to the entire system since, due to this, their users obtain devices with fully integrated hardware, software and services.

He hinted that in Android one of the biggest problems is fragmentation both for the user and for the developers who have to do more work to take their development to all the devices so different and with so many versions of the system and to demonstrate it he gave the example of the company that developed the Twitter client , TweetDeck, which according to Jobs had to handle 100 different versions of Android on 244 different devices. That does not happen on Iphone, one application is valid for all devices.

This statement has only been worth the CEO of Apple to quickly deny his statements. From the company that developed TweetDeck for Android They have commented that this is not the case and that they only had two people making the application for this system, also adding that fragmentation has not been as relevant a problem as Jobs commented.

Yes, we have finally heard Steve Jobs admit that Android won the game in the previous quarter beating the IOS and putting Android as the only real competitor for them. This assertion softened it a bit by saying that this happened while they were making the transition to the iPhone 4 and that we wait to see who takes the lead in the last quarter.

As we have said, not only Android took a review, RIM also took its part and more or less came to say that it is already lost and that it has nothing to do against Apple or Android, and only because it has sold 2 million fewer terminals that they. At least in this part of his speech, he acknowledged that Android is a competition that must be taken into account for them and that Apple and Android are the two systems called to reign.

Although Nokia has an anecdotal presence in the US, Jobs did not want to miss the occasion either and sent them a little damn, our job is to make the best devices in the world and not be the largest in the world. Nokia is the biggest but we don't know how to make great phones for $ 50.

We look forward to the appearance tomorrow to see if he releases another batch of records.

Now, if we are totally objective, we cannot take part of the reason from what Steve said, perhaps the forms are not the most correct, but deep down, something is right. Fragmentation in Android, although it is very hackneyed, is true and may over time be eliminated or almost disappear, but today it is a problem although not as serious as Jobs paints it.

It is true that the manufacturers are making the system lose part of its free spirit, but Android is still an open system and very, very different from IOS and above all from the policy that Apple has regarding the system, and just like itself. Andy Rubin comments on his Twitter account the definition of Android open is "Mkdir android; cd android; repo init -u git: //android.git.kernel.org/platform/manifest.git; repo sync; make, " (This is what you have to do to download the entire Android code to any computer)

And of course Android grows, and grows very quickly and by simple math and seeing the path that it has shortly, it will sell many more phones than Apple, but it is logical. There are a multitude of brands with a multitude of models that cover all market spectra and by force have to sell more, it is precisely what Nokia has been doing for many years.

Do you agree with Steve or not?

It is normal to smell fear ... people are not stupid.

iPhone 4 is good, but after trying it (my girlfriend has it) I realized how tired it is and how little future it has due to company policy.

It has few curious Apps, all are mediocre Apps except those that are "multiplatform" like Shazaam etc ...

The only good thing that Apple does are laptops, everything else is nonsense to sell to people who do not know much about technology.

Android is barely 2 years old and is already more useful than the old iOS, I suppose that is what makes Jobs so uncomfortable, the unstoppable progress of Android.

Well, I give it to him a little, but he is still a posh nose. It is stung because it knows that in a few months or years Android will hit a review. Too elitist with their pots ...

I really like Apple laptops, but the comment of the $ 50, it has to be… well, send it to your mansion with all your money, they will take the crown from you.
Although that won't make him poor 😉

He may be right in part of what he says, but the issue of fragmentation is getting tired. As part of a development group… we have only released one app yet, but the fragmentation has not been more of a problem than taking into account that in old terminals / with Android 1.x our game was going to run slower. But the development effort for compatibility between Android versions and terminals has been minimal ...

This whole issue of fragmentation has always sounded like a FOD campaign against Android. It is not bad to have a variety of devices if it does not complicate development excessively; the user WANTS to have that variety. Each person has a different concept of the "best mobile in the world" and wants to be able to choose the one that best suits them, not the one they say or is fashionable (there will be those who do, well).
And the OS fragmentation yes, it is a shit that some terminals carry old versions, but supporting them is not a hell of a job as they want to make it seem. And you know that sooner or later they will be updated if what you are concerned about is their performance (as we do).

It seems that they have never written applications for computers, where such OS fragmentation happens constantly ... and no developer has ever complained.

I can't stand Apple or Steve Jobs who does nothing but speak ill of everyone. Looks like he's in high school. And the worst thing is that people see a shiny iPhone (which sucked like even 4G) and they buy it that way it costs a mini fortune.

Terrible, terrible. The same I keep everything that is Free Software.

I think jobs is right, I have my htc magic and I am an apple user. My girlfriend has an iPhone 3G, and I recently bought an iPad, far above the tablets that Android has right now, that if it is a slightly larger mobile. I recently tried a samsung galaxy s, and I must say that I was very disappointed, maybe I was used to the exquisiteness of the ipad, and that is that the samsung is a bit bouncy when zooming with multitouch, and the applications make no mistake, they are still to light years, in addition to the market… I'm waiting for my stay with vodafone to end next month, to buy the iphone4, because apple just works.

@garsanser as long as everyone around you has Apple devices you will continue to be happy, when the day comes that you have to pass a file to someone via Bluetooth and you can't, then you will start to itch XD

It seems to me that android has no future

  11.   Nexus said

dwarf .. and what are you doing entering a page dedicated to Android? Either you are stupid or you want to mount a brawl for the whole world to answer you. You do not have a future Troll, go to the Iphone forum to see how you change the battery at the same ... it will be silly! It is like saying that Google has no future, I do not j… .e…

  12.   garsanser said

@ Land-of-Mordor there is email. Currently in my magic I do not transfer files by bluetooth.

@saul is my opinion, if you don't like it say why, but don't be so vulgar ...

I don't see a future for google either. He's the big brother. And just go to this page to read the point of view of what Steve said. Goodbye Nexus.

It is true that Steve J does not have to talk like that, in that they are all right, he is a cretin, but this cretin imposed the tactile keyboard, which many criticized as Steve B but ended up in copy paste, in 2007 he took everyone in white with the invention of the year, although he had already been giving him with the iPod and now he has reinvented (not invented) the video call and not to mention the iPad.
Please be realistic, people install Cydia and Installous, period, they can put any number of things on the iPhone and for free either from tomtom to the most expensive games, I do not know if you too, I have never had any HTC or any other non-iPhone phone since the iPhone was invented, but I hope they can do the same.
It is true they should come with bluetooth open by default, but as I said, it can be installed from Cydia, also anything can be sent by email.
Say that the iPhone has no future, God who says that is drugged or stung because the money does not give him for an iPhone (hehehe, joke, of course anyone can buy one)
I see the faces of my friends who have Android, when they see the iPhone they say "when I have the money I buy one" Why? I do not know.
With this I am not saying that iOS is the best of the best, but everyone buys what they like and what they can pay for, I see very well that if someone like me enters here to criticize, they will defend theirs tooth and nail or like cat face up, in the iPhone forums, if someone from here enters, they will eat him alive.
I have an iPhone 4 but I am not a Mac fan, but a PC fan and an iPhone at the same time, but I think I'm going to die with a PC, although I also have a Mac.
Just stop by, because I have never entered a non-iPhone forum and today it came to mind to do so and see what is being said.
I think that Android is as good as iOS (for tastes of colors and for smells of flowers) but this will not make me the happiest person in the world or better, it is just a simple toy, until it breaks or something better is brought out. BE HAPPY FRIENDS !!
