Samsung to launch two new virtual reality devices

VR Gear

Samsung has another interesting year for what virtual reality isDue to the relative success of its Samsung Gear VR and that VR that is being increasingly desired by millions of people who do understand that it opens up another world other than the real one in which we find ourselves; at least what is a new experience.

Samsung would be ready to launch two new virtual reality devices or VR coming soon. One of those would be the Samsung Gear VR2, which would be an update of the existing one and the other would be something more than a promise and a supposed advance. What is clear is that virtual reality is something that will stay with us.

The Samsung Gear VR 2 will be presented soon, as said by Dr. Sung-hoon Hong, vice president of Samsung Electronics. Details are scarce on that impending device, but it appears that the rendering engine for the original Gear VR has been improved. Samsung would also be embracing what is augmented reality or AR, so the Gear VR 2 could include features that would come in handy for that kind of slightly different experience that we've all felt on our own with Pokémon GO.

The second virtual reality device would be a new one built on existing technologies such as technology Magic Leap AR and HoloLens from Microsoft. Sung-Hoon says:

My team is developing a light field engine.

This would be used for Samsung's holographic technology, and it looks quite promising. For the collaboration of this second device, the Korean giant has already been looking at prototypes of Magic Leap and HoloLens. What Samsung would be doing would be find a partner to enter that new adventure that would enter fully into an exciting field.
