We have been hearing about curved screens for a long time. We can regularly read as several manufacturers are working on it and even rumors sometimes point to certain devices to be equipped with this technology. So far, all unfounded.
Finally this time it seems that it is serious, because Samsung Electronics Co Ltd itself has confirmed that in October they will introduce a device with this type of screen on the market.
Curved screens they are already being commercialized by Samsung itself as well as by LG on large-format televisions. However, no mobile device with this peculiar characteristic has yet been mass produced.
Last January, Samsung already presented some prototypes of flexible screen devices, as an evolution of a technology that it has been developing for some time. However It is the first time that the consumer could reach some kind of mobile device without the traditional flat screen.
These screens are made with resistant curved plastic, instead of traditional glass, and it must be emphasized, as already mentioned in the last presentation of the Galaxy Note 3, that will not be flexible, but rigid. Still it is one more step in this direction.
It is unknown what additional characteristics this equipment would have, as well as the final appearance or use that will be given to this curved screen, but perhaps could be used to provide additional information, as you can see from the curved screen concept of the header image.
Some rumors pointed to the possibility that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launched with curved screen, but this point has not been confirmed yet. We also do not know if the device will be sold outside of Korean lands. We will be attentive to this launch.
