Samsung helps the South Korean government import the necessary material to make masks

In Spain, the Inditex group of Amancio Ortega, has made available to the Spanish government both its facilities to manufacture masks and its fleet of aircraft to help in the fight against the coronavirus. In South Korea, Samsung is collaborating with the government of to import and manufacture masks.

The Samsung group and the South Korean government have collaborated together to buy 2,5 tons of fabric to make masks. Reportedly, the first order arrived on March 26 and a day later everything was ready to start mass production of masks.

Samsung has expanded its efforts to fight the spread of the coronavirus, lending its expertise to local businesses and improving infrastructures to automate and accelerate production. The country's mask factories were unable to operate at full capacity due to a lack of necessary material, a problem that Samsung has solved.

The Korean Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy began looking for suppliers of the material needed to make masks abroad. Finally, we find two exporters, one of them located in Europe, who they met the necessary standards, but there was a problem.

The government encountered different problems when contacting both companies. Thanks to the intervention of Samsung, who was in charge of buy directly the necessary material for the manufacture of masks, the government can order 2,5 tons of material out of the 53 tons it plans to buy.
