Nokia has published the second biannual security report called “Threat Intelligence Report”Where it analyzes mobile infections and vulnerabilities for the first and second half of the year (2016).
The new report does not paint any better than the first, as it reveals an increase of up to 400% in the rate of infections with malware. From this figure, 85% of infected devices are smartphones.
And to leave no room for doubt, Nokia once again recalls in its report that Android tablets and phones are the most vulnerable devices, but not because they have the worst security measuresBut because Android is the most popular operating system in the world (a fact recently confirmed by Google), which is why it has become the platform most persecuted by hackers.
Apple is not saved either
However Apple iOS devices too suffered many attacks in the second half of last year, especially by the Spyphone surveillance software, capable of logging calls, SMS messages, social media applications, web searches, GPS locations, and other private data.
Interestingly, the infection rate among Windows PCs has dropped, but for the same reason, as more and more users have begun to abandon their computers to use only mobile devices (tablets and phones).
