Facebook is the social giant present throughout the world. Since each nation differs from multiple points of view, Facebook also has to adapt based on the country.
The lower navigation bar of the Facebook app for iPhone 7 Plus has 5 icons. There is a button dedicated to the news feed, another dedicated to videos, another to the Facebook Marketplace, notifications and, finally, a button to view other options, such as the profile.
However, if you are going to use the application in Ukraine, for example, you will see that it only has three buttons in the navigation bar. In total there are more than 60 different versions of the same application. All of them were now put together in the same place by designer Luke Wroblewski.
In the data collected by Wroblewski we note that we are presented with a rather strange perspective on the way Facebook designers manipulate the app hoping to control user behavior.
The social network has more than 2.000 billion monthly users, and consequently many are mere guinea pigs for the company's experiments. In this sense, design is paramount to the success of Facebook.
The presence of more than 60 different navigation bars It might seem like an exaggeration, although the social network is determined to find the perfect version that most satisfies users.
Similarly, the company must take into account that users live in different parts of the world. For example, in some regions, Facebook is probably concerned with popularizing certain aspects of its platform with higher priority than others. If the bazaar is very popular in a country, logically the company wants to promote the product in that country and will add a button to the Marketplace in the navigation bar. You can see the designer's list by clicking on this link.
There are also regional concerns that Facebook takes into consideration. In some countries where internet connections are not as good, the company uses a simpler version called Facebook Lite. The Facebook Lite navigation bar does not include a button for playing videos, because it would impact mobile data too much.
As several people who contributed to the designer's list have already said, Facebook can change its mobile application even based on a user's behavior. Facebook regularly tests updates on its platform.
For example, a Tinder-like feature was tested in Messenger in September. In addition, the company constantly tests new algorithms for the News Feed.
The last update is disgusting, sorry for telling you, the likes do not disappear, and it remains as if you had not reacted you cannot share anything because it says error I cannot upload a new photo because it says that I already published it had the version of Facebook last year and I updated it last week to the new one this year and it has many flaws, please fix all those problems and flaws you have and if you are going to update something that is for the better not to damage them
