We are already facing the big day for LG and at the presentation event of the G5, the Korean manufacturer is showing the virtues and benefits of what is one of the most important phones of this year 2016. A very special year due to the great difficulty that companies are finding in being able to highlight a smartphone that is presented as the best of the moment. Dozens of companies releasing the best hardware, great design, and a balancing price tag are shaking the market. We will have many of these in the following days as happens with Xiaomi, which has positioned itself as the leader of smartphones that have a great value for money.
At the time that the LG G5 has been presented at the MWC, we have been surprised by its modularity by being able to change the battery for a complete one in a second, as we did a few years ago with many terminals. But the surprise has not been here when that battery module can be changed for a special one for the camera with LG Cam Plus or for the sound with LG Hi-Fi Plus. A special phone that is being presented in all the luxury of details such as that 5,3-inch screen, Snapdragon 820 chip, USB type-C or a combo in the rear camera with wide-angle capabilities.
LG G5, a big surprise
Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG, has shown to everyone the new LG G5 in which he has focused on his special design, its thin thickness and a special feature such as the removable battery so that the user can have a full charge, as it was a few years ago with most Android phones. LG with this move wants any user to have an extra battery so that at any time they can have full autonomy again to be able to enjoy all their daily tasks such as those social networks, photography or video games.
The full metal body design is another of the biggest features that LG has focused on in the first minutes of the presentation with that special bar in the back where you have the camera lens and the accompanying flash attached. An LG with a very thin thickness that allows it to offer visual qualities in a special way.
The other great feature in those opening minutes is the "always on" screen in which they wanted to emphasize the great autonomy of the terminal that, if we add to the removable battery in a very easy way, it will allow us to get closer to a series of advantages that we are not used to in other phones. That screen is 5,3 inches Quad HD IPS Quantum and in which the "Alway On" functionality is incorporated for the first time to show both the date and the time continuously, even when the LG G5 is in sleep mode.
The other features of this phone go through some 16MP and 8MP cameras on the rear with wide angle and 9MP front. It is here that they have also had a few minutes to explain the advantages of these two lenses that form a very special combo. The rear camera combo have the characteristics of a 78 degree lens and a 135 degree wide angle. It is the latter that achieves a field of view 1,7 times wider than the usual cameras.
A modular smartphone
By being able to remove the battery instantly, the G5 has another great characteristic for modular by being able to immediately equip you with excellent camera features with LG Cam Plus, or what is special functionality with an innovative hi-fi audio system designed in conjunction with Bang & Olufsen Play.

The companions of the LG G5
LG Playground is a series of devices accompanying the G5 in this new adventure for a smartphone that is becoming quite a surprise. We have the LG 360 VR virtual reality glasses that connect via a cable to the G5 and simulate the visibility of a 130-inch television with a resolution of 639 ppi.
Another of the companions is a compact 360 degree camera LG 360 Cam. It comes equipped with two 13 MP cameras and a 200 degree wide angle. It includes a 1.200 mAh battery and 4 GB internal memory, which can be expanded with a micro SD card. With this camera you can create high-quality 360-degree content and offers 2K resolution video and ambient sound that it records through its 3 built-in microphones.
Rolling Bot is another of the companions and is itself a spherical one that rolls like a ball and that records images and videos through an 8MP camera. An idea that has other options such as using it to monitor the home, remote control of compatible appliances.
Three are the remaining of this team of companions that will turn the LG G5 into a whole smartphone with various options entertainment: the LG Tone Platinum wireless headphones with Harman Kardon-hallmarked audio quality, other high-end H3 headphones by B&O Play and LG Smart Controls to easily control certain drones like a joystick.
The entrails
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip is LG's selected processor for the G5. 64-bit performance, Areno 530 graphics and low-power Qualcomm Hexagon DSP. This Snapdragon 820 chip integrates an LTE X12 modem that supports CAT12 download speeds of up to 600 Mbps. We have already known in several entries the virtues of this Qualcomm chip in which its Adreno 530 GPU has a 40 percent faster graphics performance and consumes 40% less energy.
The other details go through a 32 GB internal memory, 4 GB in RAM and the ability to expand internal storage via microSD card (up to 2TB). Android 6.0 Marshmallow, USB Type-C and a 2.800 mAh battery end up getting us into the new LG G5.
