The South Korean firm LG has been the last company to officially announce the celebration of a special event within the framework of the Mobile World Congress 2017 that, as every year, will be held next February in Barcelona.
With what appears to be a smartphone screen on the invitation, its new flagship, the LG G6, is more than likely to be unveiled at the press conference scheduled for February 26.
The slogan of the invitation, "See More, Play More" ("See more, play more") is not very descriptive, nor is the generic image included, a mountain range bathed by the sea and with two-thirds of the image occupied by a sky lit by fireworks.
In financial terms, the LG company is not going through its best moment. The company would be about to announce its first quarterly losses in six years due, especially, to its mobile division, which would not have performed enough due to the doubtful Results from previous LG G5 and LG V20 devices from last year.
The company has been announcing itself some of the specifications and features of the upcoming LG G6. For example, last week it announced that its flagship device will have a 5,7-inch QHD + display with an 18: 9 aspect ratio, optimal for the support of the multi-window function of Android 7 Nougat, while the screen will be more efficient in energy consumption and will present some minimal side framess.
After the debacle of Samsung's Galaxy Note 7, also LG has been subjecting its batteries to intense safety testsd which are supposed to exceed US and European safety standards.
The event is scheduled for February 26 at 12:00 local time in Barcelona (Spain) and will probably be broadcast over the internet.
