The history of Huawei in 2019, does not give for a movie, but rather for a miniseries, as long as the espionage story that surrounds it ends soon, since otherwise, we can have a soap opera with many, many episodes. And for now, everything seems to indicate that it leads this last path.

Huawei has denounced several French journalists and experts for defamation. According to Huawei, the three experts and journalists sued made defamatory comments against the company, both on radio and television, accusing it of being one more arm of the Chinese government.

The legal actions that the company has filed come when the Asian manufacturer is trying present itself as the best offer to implement 5G networks, both in France and Germany.

Since Huawei's CFO, the CEO's niece, Meng Wanzhou, was arrested in Canada in December 2018, the Shenzhen-based company has tried by all means to fight against allegations of ties to the Chinese state.

According to Huawei, the lawsuit against these journalists and experts focuses solely on the statements they made stating that Huawei is a company controlled by the Chinese government, led by a former counterintelligence member who uses his technological expertise in telecommunications networks to carry out acts of espionage against the Western world.

One of the defendants, Valerie Niquet, researcher at the Foundation for Strategic Research based in Paris, specializing in China and Japan, claims that the Chinese government's control over Huawei is something that cannot be denied, stating:

No one would have given a Soviet company the means to control all communication in the Western world, and that is what we are doing with Huawei.

Moment we do not know if the court will accept the claim and initiate a formal investigation.

Wash your image

The Asian company is resorting to the courts to try to wash its image, not only in the face of users, but also in the face of the authorities of the countries, and that both the national security agencies of Europe and the United States, have pointed out on various occasions your concerns about the potential risk of using company equipment.

Huawei denounced the American government a few months ago for prohibiting American companies from use their equipment in the country's communication networks. The company wants a federal judge in Texas to rule that a law prohibiting federal agencies and contractors from buying or using the Chinese giant's equipment due to the alleged risk of cyber exploitation by China is an unconstitutional attempt by Congress to oust to the company in the country.
