Google will allow real money gambling applications in Spain and 14 other new countries

Play Store

So far, Google only allows real money gambling apps on the Play Store in four countries, which are the UK, Ireland, France and Brazil. This will be the case until March 1, as 15 new countries will be added from that moment, and Spain is included among these.

In question, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden and the United States are those in which the Google Play Store will accept the inclusion of this type of apps, thus boasting a total of 19 countries allowed as of March 1.

It has always been possible to install real money gambling applications on Android, but not through the Play Store. This is the novelty that will now reach users interested in getting this type of hobby, and it is due to the change of app store policies, which will be applied to the 15 countries already mentioned. Surely, over time, this list will grow.

There are four categories of gambling allowed, including online casino games, lotteries, sports betting, and daily fantasy sports.

As the portal highlights GSMArena, developers of these types of applications will need to fill out a special gambling request form and ensure that their application has an International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) content rating and meets Policy Center requirements for Google developers. Without this, they will not be accepted in the store and, therefore, cannot be downloaded through it.

On the other hand, the policies mention Requirements and methods for real money gambling applications to avoid the use of these by minors at all costs. Furthermore, initially, the first applications accepted in the newly added countries will be administered by their governments.
