2 Major security flaws that would affect WhatsApp Web

A few days ago, specifically since the night of January 21, 2015, that WhatsApp launched its new functionality that makes it compatible with personal computers. A compatibility of be able to use our WhatsApp account from any personal computer, through Google Chrome and authentication via QR code scanned from the new functionality WhatsApp Web included in the latest version of WhatsApp.

Well, in just five days of using Web WhatsApp, a couple of serious flaws with regard to the privacy and security of our data.

WhatsApp

The first of them directly affects the privacy of our profile, a privacy that although from the application WhatsApp for Android, does not allow us the possibility of accessing WhatsApp user profiles that we do not have included in the list of our Android contacts, this is violated in WhatsApp Web in such a way that even if we do not have a contract included in the contact list of our Android, we will be able to enter to cheat things as private as the profile photo of the aforementioned user.

For example, if in WhatsApp for Android, from the mobile application we receive a message from a user which we do not have included in the list of our Android contacts, WhatsApp for Android prevents us from accessing the profile view of the aforementioned user and vice versa. As a second problem to highlight, there is the option that from WhatsApp Web we will be able to see all the photos shared through WhatsApp for Android, something that in principle is a good functionality and a sensational tool to synchronize and download photos directly to our personal computer without using any type of cable. The problem comes when after deleting content from our Android application, these deleted photos are still available in the version of WhatsApp for personal computers, or what is the same, once the photos shared from the WhatsApp application for Android have been deleted , We will have these available for download from WhatsApp Web.

Hello, the second option I think is not real, when I delete a photo or video from my mobile it is automatically deleted from the web, almost instantly. The problem that I see, and I have communicated to technical support, is that from the web version we cannot delete photos, videos or conversations, you must go to your mobile to delete content, something that is impractical.
