Today Samsung has presented its new high-end clamshell phone at an event in China, the market targeted by this type of design.
The Samsung SM-W2018 was first seen in a leak several weeks ago and, as we predicted at the time, it will only be available on the Asian continent and will serve as a celebration of the company's 25 years in that market.
Official features of the Samsung SM-W2018
The Samsung SM-W2018 comes as an update to the W2017, not the Samsung Leadership 8, a shell phone that was presented four months ago.
The SM-2018 has a design made of metal and glass, it will come in two different colors, gold and platinum, its weight is 247 grams, much heavier than the S8 (155g) or the Note 8 (195g).
We find two 4.2-inch touch screens with AMOLED technology and Full HD resolution, in addition to a full keyboard and physical navigation buttons.
Inside we find a Snapdragon 835 processor accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage (with expansion slot). The mobile has dual SIM support, a 2.300 mAh battery, a fingerprint reader and a dedicated button for Bixby, samsung assistant.
In addition to being the first clamshell phone to have a physical button dedicated to Bixby, the SM-W2018 is the first to have a 'high quality' camera according to the company itself. While this camera is 12 megapixels, which is nothing out of the ordinary, what shines is its f / 1.5 aperture, the lowest on the market. The Samsung SM-W2018 arrives with Android 7.0 but will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo next year.
Finally, there is no official price for the Samsung W2018, but various sources assure that it will be around $ 2.000.
