Stories on Facebook and Instagram are a feature that has been available on both platforms for a few years now. In both cases It's about a Snapchat-inspired feature, which they have adapted to their platforms. Especially in the case of Instagram, these stories have become one of its most popular features. In fact, many accounts on the social network keep their stories updated on a daily basis, but they upload few posts on their accounts.
The main characteristic of these stories is that that content disappears after 24 hours. It is a content that will be available for a limited time, therefore, and this is something that users like a lot on the two social networks. In addition, the content that is uploaded in a storie can be of all kinds. It is possible to upload photos, videos (such as recording yourself live, for example) and then add texts, music or links.
Another possibility we have is to share a post in stories. This option is a good way to give more publicity to a post that you have uploaded in one of the two social networks, so that it reaches more people. Especially if it is a publication that you consider is important or you have a special interest in having more people see it, it is good that it is also shared in the stories on the two social networks. Share post in Instagram stories
Stories or stories are something especially popular on Instagram, where millions of users upload a story daily to their accounts. Especially company accounts, celebrities or influencers make use of this function in their profiles. As we have mentioned, this is a function that can be especially useful if you want to promote a post that you have uploaded in your account, if you want it to have more prominence or more attention from your followers on the social network.
The social network has changed the way a post can be shared in stories, so for many this process has become somewhat more complicated. Luckily, there are several ways to do it, so whenever you want to share that post in your stories on Instagram, you will be able to do it without any problem.
Link to publication
One of the ways that we can recourse is to share the link to that publication in our stories. Thanks to this, other users who see our stories will be able to click on said link and thus go to that post that we have uploaded in our profile. This is something that can also be done easily in the Android app, following these steps:
- Go to your profile on Instagram
- Look for that post or publication that you want to share in your stories.
- Click on the three vertical dots in the upper right.
- A context menu appears.
- Click on the Copy link option.
- Go to your stories.
- Upload a story where you are going to paste that link.
- Post the story.
When a person enters that story on our Instagram account, you can click on that link within it. By doing this, the social network will take you directly to the publication that we have uploaded, so that you can see that photo and read the text, to react next (either a like or leave a comment). In addition, this option to share posts in stories can also be used with publications from other users if we believe that they should have attention and we want our followers on the social network to be able to see them, for example.
Create
A second option that we have available is the Create function within the stories themselves in the social network. It is a method that we can use only in those posts that are ours, that is, we will not be able to use it if we want to share someone else's publication on Instagram. But if what we are looking for is to give more attention or prominence to a publication that we have uploaded in our profile in the well-known social network. This is something we can do by following these steps in the Android app:
- Tag your own profile on that post that you want to share later.
- Go to the stories on Instagram (click on the icon for it in the app).
- Enter Create in Stories mode (located on the left side of the screen).
- Swipe through the options until you get to Happy Birthday.
- Enter the username you have tagged.
- Select the publication you want to share (delete those that do not apply).
- Delete the text Happy Birthday.
- Change the background.
- You can now publish this story.
Guides
The third and last option in the case of Instagram is to use the guides. This option will allow us to share our publications, as well as other users in our stories on the platform. Therefore, it is another good option if we want to upload that post in the stories and that other users can see them. The steps to follow are:
- Click on the + icon on your Instagram profile
- Choose the Guide option.
- Choose Publications.
- If it is a publication of others, do it from Saved.
- Add the post you want to share in this case.
- Complete the fields / texts that you are asked to complete on the screen.
- Enter the guide and share it in your stories (click on the paper plane icon to do so).
Share on Facebook
We also have stories on Facebook, although they are not something that has as many users as on Instagram. Despite this, it is possible that at a certain moment we want to share a post in our stories on the social network. This is something that can be done in a simple way on the social network, in fact it is easier than on Instagram. In addition, in this case it is something that we can do with all kinds of publications that we have seen in it.
That is to say, if you want to share something you have seen in your news feed, like a post from a page that you follow, you can also share it in your stories on Facebook. So we are given many options in this regard on the platform when we want to share a publication in our stories. The steps you have to follow in this case are:
- Open Facebook on your device.
- Go to the publication that you want to share in your stories on the social network, be it yours or something that you have seen in the news feed in your account.
- Click on the Share button at the bottom of this publication.
- Choose the option Share to your story now (it can appear under More options in some cases).
- If you want to add some text or emoji to that story, do it now.
- Click on publish that story.
With these steps we have shared that publication in the stories in our account on the social network. As it happens on Instagram, they will be visible for 24 hours, so that when one of our friends enters Facebook (both in the app and on their PC), they will be able to see that those stories appear at the top of the feed and they will then be able to click on them to see the content that we have shared in the same. If they want, they will be able to react to these stories, either by sending a comment or through emojis, both options available on the social network. In addition, they will also be able to share your story on theirs, if that sounds like something of interest to them, for example.
