Samsung has presented its two flagships at Unpacked on August 11. Korean firm announces the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, smartphones designed for pockets that can make a large outlay, since they have a high cost.
The first of them, the Galaxy Z Flip3 mounts a great main screenApart from this, it is designed to resist water, among other details. The Galaxy Fold3 mounts a camera under the screen, while arriving well-equipped with internal features that make it a smartphone with stripes.
Galaxy Z Fold3, a high-performance smartphone
Spending almost 1.800 euros does not always mean having the best phone on the market. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 promises to have it all under a double screen. The size of the panel makes it almost an 8-inch tablet, but it will always work on one if you want.
The main panel is a 2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 7,6X Infinity Flex Display QXGA + With a resolution of 2208 x 1768 pixels, the refresh rate is 120 Hz. The one mounted as secondary is a 2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 6,2X with a resolution of 2268 x 832 pixels, betting on the same rate.
As if that were not enough, the phone shows a great design similar to the latest Galaxy S20 series, but with a part of the latest launched by the company, the S21. The S-Pen will have full prominence by having support, being essential when it comes to having the double screen and improving when aiming.
Processor, RAM and storage
El Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 decides to mount one of the most powerful chips, the Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm, who brings you 5G connectivity. It is supported by the Adreno 650 chip, designed to perform with titles of any level, so it promises a smooth operation if you want to use applications or video games from the Play Store.
Mount a total of 12 GB of RAM, enough to run several applications at the same time, at the moment there is only one option as standard. When it comes to storage, there are up to two selectable options, 256 and 512 GB, discarding the 128 GB as it is relatively little space.
Photographic quality thanks to its sensors
The third generation of Fold takes a major leap, with a 12 megapixel Dual Pixel sensor, ideal for capturing those images clearly. The secondary is a 12 megapixel ultra wide angle and the rear third is a telephoto lens of the same number of megapixels, 12, including Dual OIS and 2x zoom.
It integrates a 10 megapixel f / 2.2 front camera, 80º FOV and 1,22 µm photodiodes, perfect for capturing high quality photos and videos in Full HD + resolution. The inner camera is the fifth, it is 4 megapixels f / 1.8, FOV 80º and 2 µm photodiodes, it may have some extra use when required.
Battery, connectivity and more
A remarkable point of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is that of autonomy, the device is decided by mounting a 4.400 mAh battery. The charging speed is not confirmed, it is a point in which it should be clarified, especially in case it is fast charging, if it exceeds 25W it is enough to charge it in 45 minutes in full.
It is one of the most complete terminals when it comes to connectivity, integrating 5G / 4G, high-speed Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS and the unlocking is side-fingerprint. The tray is triple to insert an eSIM and two Nano SIM, facial recognition and IPX8 resistance.
S Pen for interaction
Multitasking is still present in Galaxy Z Fold3, for this it will use the S Pen as a great ally when writing, drawing and using gestures. Apart from the traditional S Pen, the S Pen Pro with Bluetooth or the S Pen Fold Edition can be used (this comes without added Bluetooth).
Both the S Pen Pro and the S Pen Fold Edition have Air Gestures support that could be seen on the S Pen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. Take another step forward with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, being both precise and ideal when using them on a double screen of almost 8 inches.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3, a larger terminal with water resistance
It has been launched as the surprise of the company, since it has nothing to do with the Flip2, at least at the time of what was seen at first. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 integrates a larger panel, but that is not the only apparent thing, since it shows a resistance to water being IPX8.
The main screen is a 2-inch Full HD + Dynamic AMOLED 6.7X Infinity Flex Display with resolution of 2.640 x 1.080 pixels and 120 Hz refresh rate. The secondary one is a 1,9-inch Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 260 x 512 pixels, with 302 dpi.
The internal hardware of Galaxy Z Flip3
As with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, the Galaxy Z Flip3 installs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, giving it great power against any task. The graphic section will move everything with ease, apart from that it will show great speeds with the 5G connections of the different operators.
Talking about RAM, this model mounts an 8 GB memory module, is the only option available at the moment and it is not ruled out that it will increase with a new version. In storage, the Flip3 will give two options to choose from, 128 and 256 GB with a UFS 3.1 speed.
A total of three cameras
The difference between the Fold3 and Flip3 is a lot, In it you can see for example when mounting lenses to take photos, with a total of three on the Galaxy Z Flip3 model. It has two rear ones, with a main 12-megapixel Dual Pixel AF with optical stabilization and a second 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle.
On the front you can see a 10 megapixel f / 2.4 sensor, 1,22 µm photodiodes and 80º FOV, ideal for taking good photos and videos just by turning around. Negative point is that it dispenses with even a rear lens as a telephoto lens, especially seeing the high price you pay.

El Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 will start selling at 1.049 euros from August 27, missing more than two weeks for your purchase. It will be available in cream, green, lavender, phantom black, gray, white and pink. It is a smartphone that lowers its price.
