As you well know, we have been working with Realme since its official arrival in Europe, when we attended its first dam event in Madrid and we were able to get an idea of ​​the magnitude of Realme's ideas in order to try to be a «game-changer» in terms of quality and price of the products.

The new Realme GT arrives with high-end features and a fairly contained price to position itself as the smart option this 2021. A brand's own design

Realme has decided to bet on a design recognizable enough to know that we are dealing with a signature device, but well done enough so that we feel it premium. We have slightly rounded edges, a plastic frame that mimics metal, and a glass back that enters our eyes. We can buy it in three main variants that are silver / crystal, yellow with that impressive black band that inevitably reminds us of Kill Bill, and in a dark blue quite reflected. As is usual, the rear part has a special desire to capture our tracks.

We have dimensions of 158 x 73 x 8,4 for a very light weight of only 186 grams, something that surprises considering a panel of almost 6,5 inches. In the hand it feels surprisingly good even with its dimensions. On the front we have the classic "freckle" in the upper left area that makes up the selfie camera for an exceptional use of the screen. As usual, we have a protective case included in the box, something that always comes in handy.

Technical characteristics: Are we missing something?

Obviously we highlight the well-known Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G, which will be accompanied by a version of 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage of the highest speed with 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 memory that significantly improves data transfer.

We have WiFi 6 and 5G capacity with Dual SIM system that will undoubtedly delight the most demanding. In our tests the temperature has been controlled considerably well thanks to the VC dissipation system that Realme has included in its terminal, one of the sections that has surprised us the most.

Our tests on function Smart 5G They have been quite limited given the scarcity of this type of coverage at the time of the analysis.

Display and multimedia experience

We have a panel Nearly 6,5-inch SuperAMOLED delivers 1000 nits peak brightness and a good fit according to our experience of use. We have a 120 Hz refresh rate which obviously affects the consumption of autonomy. The refresh rate for the touch panel is 360 Hz so in this aspect the experience is superior. To control brightness and maximize autonomy, Realme has placed two ambient light sensors and the reality is that they prove to respond effectively to the terminal's lighting needs. The screen utilization touches 92% and in this aspect the Realme GT is quite well achieved.

Our experience has been favorable, in the same way, in terms of sound, we found enough power and clarity to be able to enjoy its use despite the "technical" absence of a stereo sound.

Autonomy and photography

As for the battery, It mounts 4.500 mAh with a fast charge that Realme borrows from Oppo, we have 65W with a SuperDart charger which is included in the box. This allows us to move from 0% to 100% in just 35 minutes, which seems to us an interesting bet in these times. The terminal thus takes advantage of autonomy optimization characteristics, both reducing the brightness and the refresh rate, different saving modes and a reversible charge through USB-C OTG with an output of 2,5W. In our tests, the autonomy has reached a day or a day and a half of use without problems, although controlling the demand in video games and the refresh rate of the screen.

Nuestras conclusions

This Realme 5G is honestly a terminal that lacks almost nothing, we miss the Qi wireless charging, we are not going to fool ourselves, but it seems to us the only detail that differentiates it from a "Premium" terminal. The Realme UI experience has been clouded by some bloatware that we have fixed in the settings, But the performance at the speed level with any demanding game or routine task is simply brutal. The phone also does not overheat, something that has been happening at this time with other terminals.

I had little hope with that "flagship killer" that we eventually hear every year, but the reality is that with the price band of this Realme GT, I find it difficult to bet on alternatives from Samsung and even some others from Xiaomi. Realme has made a strong commitment to the "high" range in this GT, Will the play go well?
